IE9 Website is still years behind
Ok, so while the rest of the Web Development world is getting excited about IE9 and the possible wonders it will hold it seems that the IE9 test drive developers are still living in the dark ages!
At first the IE9 Test Drive website looks fairly simple, but sleak and modern in its own way. However, upon closer inspection and a little help from the Firefox Web Developer Toolbar would you believe these people have built the website structure using TABLES and inline CSS!!?!
I assume they’ve done such a thing so they don’t look like complete idiots using IE conditional statements for it to work in previous versions, but really, c’mon!
Microsoft knows their software is outdated. Microsoft knows thousands of website developers suffer hours of head-ache-inducing code-staring because of non-compliance issues…
And now it seems Microsoft thinks that even with all the hype and excitement surrounding Internet Explorer 9, developing websites with tables is still fine. IE9, my arse.
EDIT: Since posting this article, the IE9 Test Drive website has been marked up properly with divs… shame, cos I do loves a bit of Microsoft beating!
