Key Multimedia – Unlocking my potential.
It seems rather apt that I sit here writing this post. I’m currently at home, sat on a gym ball looking out the window at the snow wishing I was at work. Yep, that’s no typo…
Since starting my web developer role in August I’ve grown not only as a professional, but a person. It’s amazing how a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere can effect your work and personal life so much! I never knew it was possible.
My transition in jobs came at a time when HTML5 and CSS3 were making headlines and really starting to be supported on a wider range of browsers and devices. I thought to myself whether I’d have bothered looking into them as much as I have done if I were in my old job? No. It’s a simple answer. I just wouldn’t have had the time, support or the enthusiasm.
In my previous role I was using a dying, outdated CMS. Juggling a hundred different jobs from server management to installing RAM on clients computers. And just about every job in between. I wasn’t a web developer, I was a jack-of-all-trades.
Now, just 4 months in, I’m using the Worlds most loved CMS in WordPress. I’m coding in new, exciting languages and I’m building websites I’m proud of showing off.
If Carlsberg did jobs…
